PLANO, TEXAS – (Dec. 18, 2013) – For enhancing student movement and attention throughout the school day, the Smith System Flavors™ Noodle™ Chair was named a furnishings winner in the 2013 Architectural Products Product Innovation Awards. The seating solution also garnered the judges’ attention for its visually appealing design, form and vibrant colors.

The Product Innovation Awards annually recognize innovation in the development and refinement of buildings-related products. With 50 independent industry professionals as judges, the winners represent an impartial list of the best of the best.

“Architectural Products is a premier publication for furnishings and other products, and earning this recognition is an honor,” said Molly Risdall, vice president of sales for Smith System. “Movement throughout the day encourages student concentration and improves posture, breathing and focus – all critical to the learning experience. The Flavors Noodle Chair incorporates this movement seamlessly into the classroom environment.”

The dynamic design of the Flavors Noodle Chair responds to student movement thanks to a patented suspension under the seat. As a student shifts, the suspension reacts, allowing the seat pan to tilt slightly in all directions. These small movements throughout the day enable students to get their extra energy out, which improves attention and concentration.

Along with the patented suspension, this four-position seating solution is ideal for collaborative environments because cutouts in the chair back allow students to comfortably face front, back and both sides. Additionally, while the Flavors Noodle Chair is beneficial for all students, its flexibility offers real advantages to students with attention disorders. The seat’s shell matches others in the Flavors Seating line, which means a few students can use the Flavors Noodle Chair without the stigma of having a different chair from the rest of the class.

The Flavors Noodle Chair is offered in three shell sizes and 18 colors to fit a variety of student sizes and an array of design aesthetics.
